Belonging
“Be a lamp, or a lifeboat, or a ladder. Help someone's soul heal.”

“Your heart finds its home not in what you possess, but in the love you give away.”
One of the most reliable paths to belonging is contribution. When you give something to a community — your time, your skills, your attention, your care — you become part of it in a way that passive membership never creates.
This is why volunteering creates belonging. Why showing up to help creates belonging. Why being the person who does the unglamorous work creates belonging.
Contribution says: I am invested in this. I care about this enough to give something to it. And that investment is recognized, even when it is not explicitly acknowledged.
If you want to belong somewhere, find a way to contribute to it. Not to earn your place, but to create it.
