“In the heart's whisper, discover the courage to embrace the unknown; for in change, the soul finds its wings.”
We say we want things to be different. We want to be healthier, more connected, more fulfilled. But when change actually arrives — when the opportunity is real and the path is clear — something in us resists.
This resistance is not laziness. It is fear. The fear of the unknown. The fear of losing what we have, even if what we have is not working. The fear of discovering that the new thing is also imperfect. The fear of being wrong about what we thought we wanted.
The familiar, even when it is painful, has a kind of safety. We know its contours. We know what to expect. The unfamiliar, even when it is better, requires us to navigate without a map.
Change is not the enemy. The fear of change is not the enemy either. It is simply the price of admission to a different life.
