“Do not be afraid of your own strength, for within it lies the key to your liberation.”
Marianne Williamson wrote that our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate — it is that we are powerful beyond measure. Rumi understood this too. The reed does not fear the reed bed. It fears the music it might make.
Many people are more afraid of their own potential than of their limitations. Because potential carries responsibility. Because greatness requires courage. Because being fully yourself means you can no longer hide behind the excuse of not knowing what you are capable of.
The fear of your own power is the fear of being seen, of being held accountable, of having no more excuses. It is the fear of the life you could live if you stopped holding yourself back.
That life is waiting. The only thing between you and it is the willingness to stop being afraid of it.
