“Close your eyes, fall in love, stay there.”

“In the surrender to vulnerability, the heart finds its greatest strength and life's true colors reveal themselves.”
To love someone is to hand them something fragile and say: I trust you with this. It is one of the bravest things a human being can do.
We protect ourselves from this vulnerability in a thousand ways. We stay busy. We keep things light. We fall in love with unavailable people. We find reasons to leave before we can be left. We mistake emotional distance for strength.
But the protection is also a deprivation. The same walls that keep pain out also keep love out. You cannot be selectively permeable — open to joy but closed to hurt. The heart opens or it closes. And a closed heart, however safe, is also a lonely one.
Vulnerability is not weakness. It is the price of admission to the kind of love that actually matters.
