The Question Love Asks

It does not ask: are you without wounds? It asks: are you willing to be honest about them?

The love that requires perfection is not love — it is a performance review. Real love is interested in the actual person, not the ideal version. It wants to know your doubts, your fears, your contradictions. Not because it enjoys your suffering, but because it is interested in the truth of you.

The question love asks is simply: are you here? And the answer it hopes for is: yes. Imperfectly, incompletely, but genuinely — yes.
