Transformation
“Be melting snow. Wash yourself of yourself.”

“When you let love transform you, no return to the old self remains possible.”
Some transformations are irreversible. Once you have seen something, you cannot unsee it. Once you have known something, you cannot unknow it. Once you have become someone, you cannot fully return to who you were before.
This irreversibility can feel like a loss. There is a grief in the knowledge that certain innocences are gone forever. That the world cannot be made simple again. That the comfort of not knowing is no longer available.
But irreversibility is also a form of permanence. The growth you have achieved cannot be taken from you. The wisdom you have earned is yours. The person you have become — through everything you have survived, everything you have learned, everything you have chosen — is real.
You cannot go back. But you can go forward, carrying everything you have become.
